Coordination among a team of agents has a key role to utilise the capabilities of the team. A
step to achieve the coordination is the knowledge sharing. By having a consistent
knowledge among them, each agent can coordinate its work with its colleagues. However,
under some circumstances, agents cannot keep their knowledge consistent among them.
For instance, a wide range communication among agents is not supported.
How can a team of agents compensate this knowledge lack to maintain the coordination
among them?
Target:
The aim of this research work is to support agents with forecasting capabilities in order to
coordinate their action without pre-negotiations. Thus, agents coordinate their actions
implicitly
Problem Description
Procedures:
By depending on the current state of knowledge which each agent has, agents can forecast
their colleagues work actions and progress. Web Ontology Language (OWL) is used to
represent this knowledge. Based on these representations, a forecast process is taken
place by depending on a reasoner.
Jena framework and Pellet are the candidate tools for this research work.
Prerequisite to carry out this research work:
The candidate student should have the following competence:
1. Good knowledge of Java programming language
2. Good English skills
