The Virtual Aachen Mobile is a framework for rendering 2D and 3D virtual city views. It targets the Apple iOS and Nokia N900 platforms, using OpenGL ES for rendering. We are looking for a student to help us enhance this project. It would be useful to have some prior knowledge of OpenGL programming. Also you should know at least Java, or even better C, C++ or Objective C.
You get to program on the latest iOS devices (iPhone 4, iPod Touch, iPad 1 & 2) using our iMac computers. This is a chance to broaden your horizon and learn an interesting and ever more important computer platform. You will also get to implement amazing computer graphics techniques, using shader programs to enhance the visual quality of the renderer. The task is even more interesting, as mobile devices are rather restricted in terms of CPU and memory. So being efficient is necessary.
We offer you:
- flexible work hours
- 8-12 hours per week
- interesting, new hardware to work with
- friendly supervisors and nice students
We want:
- Good programming experience in either Java, C, C++ or Objective C
-- Coding will be Objective C and C++
- Some OpenGL experience
