Web Applications Programmer/Developer (PHP, MySQL)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

You must have extensive knowledge of Object Oriented Programming concepts, C, PHP, HTML (without the help of an HTML WYSIWYG editor), JavaScript, CSS, MySQL along with solid experience - no exceptions!

You will be expected to plan, research, develop logic, code, test and deploy several Web projects with minimal assistance. You should know how to build a PHP web application from the ground up, as well as modify and build on existing code. You should know PHP & mySQL like the back of your hand.

Ultimately, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and testing complex requests from both project managers and clients. The ideal PHP Programmer is energetic and easy-going with a great work ethic and the personality for a diverse, customer service oriented, casual work environment. The candidate should love meeting interface and development challenges daily with enthusiasm while also researching and proposing new technologies in their field and interacting with their peers.

Required skills:
PHP 4/5 programming
MySQL database administration / design / programming
Object oriented programming (OOP)
HTML skills
Experience with Template engines (preferably smarty.php.net )
Experience with documentation solutions (such as http://phpdoc.org/ )
Basic *nix shell skills (for implementing cron jobs / small shell programs) for recurring tasks
Basic server administration skills (LAMP)
Good understanding of networking technologies and protocols (especially HTTP(s) and FTP)
Knowledge of web-service architectures a plus (e.g. SOAP, REST)

Must Haves:

* 3+ years of application development experience.
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related degree.
* 3+ years of hands on working knowledge with the following:
* Software development and maintenance practices and methodologies
* Awareness of code efficiencies such as the reuse of common modules and identifies opportunities for request consolidation and/or reusability
Basic knowledge of:
*Adobe Photoshop, Image Ready
* Take a Photoshop interface design, cutting and optimizing the graphics and using them in conjunction with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. to build multi-browser/platform
*Knowledge of Open source Magento program is a plus.
