Informatik 8: Physically Based Radio Wave Propagation

Beitragvon ArneSchmitz » 02.03.10 10:45

This thesis is a joint work with the Heinrich Hertz Institut in Berlin. We aim to research a physically based radio wave propagation software for simulating indoor radio systems. The main aspects will deal with implementing a ray-tracing engine, similar to the ones used for synthesizing images, but now with an application to radio wave propagation. Several propagation phenomena, like reflection, refraction, and diffraction have to be dealt with, when simulating electromagnetic waves. This will be coupled with a postprocessing step which uses measured values to adjust the simulation for correct results. Also, the visualization and evaluation of the results is of interest. If you have knowledge of C++, are interested in ray-tracing algorithms, and physical simulations, please apply.
